The North Coast Anticlockwise Audio Guide

What To Expect

With over 500 miles of uncompromised scenery, the North Coast of Scotland offers one of the most spectacular driving routes, not only in the county but the whole World. With such an extensive and dynamic coastal line with many hidden gems to explore it can be tricky as well as time-consuming trying to figure the best places to go and how to get there.

Understanding this, The Local Guide has produced a comprehensive audio guide downloadable from your app store, to help you make the most of your trip so you won't miss a thing.  The App offers you both a clockwise and anticlockwise guided tour of the North Highland Coastline.

Working offline, alongside your phones GPS, it will provide helpful direction, information on the main, and lesser-known tourist attractions; including sightseeing opportunities, beaches, museums, distilleries, ancient castles, ruins and much more. It will also share with you local stories and important historical accounts about the landscape; it's people, the culture, and specific events which have shaped this wondrous land.

The guide will also let you know about local amenities as you approach them to help you make decisions about your stops, including bathroom breaks, meals, accommodation, gift and grocery shopping. Approaching villages or towns, it will give you an overview of everything it has to offer, as if you had a Local Guide, right there with you.

Reviews

This app was brilliant on our tour of the North Coast 500, we finished yesterday. It’s really impressive how the geotagging works to make sure you are aware of upcoming points of interest. I’ve enjoyed the little history interludes as well, it really gives life to the landscapes. This was so much more helpful than everyone’s suggested guidebook. We really recommend you use the app we found more interesting places using it than in all our research before the trip.

We were offered the chance to test the guide App prior to its official launch. And wow! I'm so glad we took up the offer. It did exactly what it said on the tin. We wouldn't have seen half the things we did were it not for its guidance. Not to mention all fascinating historical stories we learned so much from. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We completed the North Coast 500 yesterday over 10 days. The Local Guide was amazing and definitely added to our experience. The location pointers were fab, I’m sure we would have struggled finding some of the places without it. Just the perfect amount of information on each suggested stop allowed us to decide on where we wanted to visit. Prior to holiday I spent many hours researching where to go and what to do each day, my husband is more of the wing it and see type on holiday, this app takes the stress out of the planning and allows you to enjoy your surroundings.

I highly recommend this app to anyone doing the NC500, and look forward to more tours coming in future.

Last year we did the NC500 Anticlockwise, and loved it so much, we decided this year to do it clockwise. After announcing our plans on Facebook, The Local Guide got in touch and asked us to test their new tour app, The North coast audio guide. I'm really glad we did. The tour is so rich in content, I had no idea about all the great places I missed last year, despite all the research I did before hand. Thanks, guys, you made our trip.

Our ancestry was from Scotland so it had always been a dream to go and visit. To get the best of the trip, I did a heck a lot of research on internet forms. After posting a question, the local guide reached out and offered for us to test their tour guide app. What we got to loose, right!? Well, we just got back after the most amazing trip and I wanted to let y'all know our thoughts so you might be able to benefit as we did. Honestly, these guys have done such a great job. We learned so much, and got to listen to some swell highland music along the way. The guide was so informative in every aspect. It took so much of the stress away and allowed us to get maximum enjoyment. Good luck with the venture. But, I gotta feeling, you don't need it.
